You are the ones providing much-needed infrastructure (e.g. bikeways\, roads\, etc.) and the ones who take the lead in making sure their citizens get the chance to go seamlessly from A to B relying on their preferred mobility services.  \nTo accomplish this\, you are often faced with data questions and have to choose which way to go when it comes to licensing\, reporting\, and urban planning. We know that the list of existing standards and specifications can be daunting. So\, we have designed this interactive session for you. \nOver the course of 90 minutes\, experts representing all existing standards and specifications will tell you all about them and answer your questions. The goal of this deep dive is designed for you to walk away with clear actions to leverage data and unleash your mobility planning power. \nRepresented standards/specifications and initiatives: \n\nTransmodel suite (NeTEx\, SIRI) by DATA4PT\nGxFS (GBFS\, GTFS Schedule\, GTFS Realtime) by MobilityData\nTOMP-API by TOMP-WG\nMDS and CDS by the Open Mobility Foundation\nCDS-M by the DAT.Mobility\n\nOutline of the discussion: \n\nDefinitions of each standards/specifications \nExisting tools to leverage them\nHow to get involved\nOpen floor

SUMMARY:TRANSED: Mobility\, Accessibility & Demand Response Transportation Conference
DESCRIPTION:Omar Kabbani\, our Transit Data Specialist\, will be presenting some of his work at the conference. \n  \nConvened by Transportation Research Board\, the TRANSED: Mobility\, Accessibility & Demand Response Transportation Conference will be held virtually\, September 12-16\, 2022. This conference combines two long standing conferences with similar content: the “16th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Older Adults and People with Disabilities (TRANSED)” and the “5th International Conference on Demand Responsive Transport (DRT)”. The theme of this combined conference is “Inclusive Accessible and Sustainable Demand Response Transportation”. The Conference aims to describe current global research\, services to improve mobility and accessibility for individuals with disabilities and for older adults\, and best practices in providing demand responsive transportation (paratransit). \nThe overarching conference theme addresses the chasm between academic research and real-world planning practice and project implementations of sustainable\, inclusive and accessible mobility. Conferees will also address the disconnect between the transportation analyses that agencies conduct and conditions on the ground for providers of sustainable and accessible mobility solutions. Successful implementation of mobility concepts is reliant on inclusive design\, a business and service plan to attract and retain riders and funding\, staff and user training\, and a comprehensive accessible technology base. Accordingly\, we seek contributions from researchers\, practitioners\, and others\, such as non-profits and charitable organizations and manufacturers.  Participants will represent a wide range of lived and professional experiences and discuss how diverse perspectives are included in policy development\, project selection\, and mitigation to advance transportation inclusion and accessibility. \nThe combined TRANSED DRT conference will offer an agenda for participants to attend traditional panel and technical sessions. The conference will include sessions using accepted submissions from this Call for Abstracts that are socially interactive\, engaging\, and enable creative learning and sharing \nOverview\nThe TRANSED series of conferences have\, since 1978\, provided the premier international forum to exchange ideas on what works and why\, and to share innovations\, promising practices\, and technological developments\, and research on accessible transportation\, mobility and travel. TRB’s series of Demand Response conferences have explored the state of practices and innovations in paratransit operations and planning by leading practitioners\, planners and researchers in the paratransit community from across the country and the world. This combined conference will enable a vibrant exchange of perspectives and information\, offering a venue to develop future collaborations. \nThis combined conference will showcase international innovation and technological solutions for accessible transportation and travel through papers\, posters and other media presentation formats\, as well as through an exhibition of products\, services\, and best practices.  Conferees will also have the opportunity to participate in training workshops and technical visits.  Above all\, attendees will study and use the concept of the Complete Trip or Trip Chain to identify elements of trips that need improvement to achieve inclusion for everyone and reduce difficulties and barriers for individual users. \nTwo major crises – global climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic – have highlighted the need for the provision of demand responsive services to reach healthcare\, and accelerated development of new mobility options within the Transit Family of Services. New and developing technologies like microtransit\, micro mobility\, automated vehicles\, and app-based services are also beginning to transform our transportation systems. This conference is the continuation of a long-term effort and process to understand how demand response and fixed route transit and other transportation systems are integrated while addressing accessibility and inclusion. Sustainable projects serving the entire community needs to be the product of community expertise from multiple perspectives\, technical and academic research and analysis\, management motivation\, staff training as well as better design and new accessible technology.

SUMMARY:TOMP-API summer meetup
DESCRIPTION:For the past two years\, the TOMP working group meetings have been forced to be held online via Teams\, but that is now about to change. At the initiative of Tjalle Groen and the Working Team 4\, a Summer meetup will be held on September 2\, 2022. When looking for a suitable location within Europe\, the Flemish city of Ghent (Belgium) was chosen as the central point within Europe. The sympathetic and hospitable residents of Ghent know what good living is and are happy to welcome the TOMP working group. More info: https://tomp-wg.org/?p=561

SUMMARY:Benelux Mobility-as-a-Service (‘MaaS’) project day
DESCRIPTION:This event is led by the Benelux/NRW Living Laboratory for MaaS. It is invitation-only. \nMobilityData will present its perspective on the convergence of standards. \nThe Benelux MaaS project\, also called ‘Benelux/NRW Living Laboratory for MaaS’\, is a project supported by different regions within the Benelux Area\, and by Nord-Rhine Westphalia (NRW). In this first step\, the goal of the project is to establish a common ground between different stakeholders to facilitate a multimodal\, seamless\, cross border travel experience between the different Benelux regions. \nThe Working Group aims to design a common solution for the booking\, validation and justification of payment for all types of public transport. The starting point of the project is the cross border ticketing project of both the ‘Aachener Verkehrsverbund’ and the ‘Limburg MaaS project’. Through their applications a passenger can check in on either side of the border and check out on the other side\, using their home account.

SUMMARY:Governance & Integration working group meeting
DESCRIPTION:As 2022 gets underway\, POLIS Working Group for Governance & Integration begins with a bang! \nThe POLIS Working Group for Governance & Integration discusses key challenges faced by local and regional authorities when developing policies and strategies to accelerate the shift to sustainable urban mobility\, improve equity and safeguard the public interest\, and deal with cutting-edge innovation. \nOn 1st April the group will hold its first hybrid meeting of the year\, and this is certainly not one to miss! We talk MOMENTUM\, dealing with disruption and data sharing. It is a packed agenda\, exploring the cutting edge issues in sustainable urban mobility. \nSession # 1 \nDeciding with Momentum \nHow can cities exploit the full potential of emerging mobility solutions? EU-funded MOMENTUM project developed a set of new data analysis methods\, transport models and planning support tools\, to capture the impact of new transport options on urban mobility\, and help cities design the right policy mix. As the project draws to a close\, it’s time to share key insights. \nSession # 2 \nDelivering with Disruption \nAs successive climate crisis alarms increase the pressure to decarbonize transport\, and digital technologies feed an ever-growing variety of new mobility services\, key questions remain. In this session we’ll have a structured dialogue\, properly facilitated and open to all participants. Input will be used to inspire and support POLIS activities and its members. \nSession # 3 — Featuring Newton DAVIS and Tu-Tho THAI from MobilityData  \nDealing with Data \nMany people call data the “new oil”\, and it seems to be popping up everywhere – fuelling business\, boosting research\, driving decisions. Great opportunities abound\, but great challenges too\, for both the private and the public sector.
