MobilityData Members Elect Julien de Labaca to Board of Directors

Wednesday, February 25, 2026 MobilityData announced today that its members have elected Julien de Labaca (L’Explorateur des Mobilités, France) to its Board of Directors at the organization’s 7th Annual General Assembly (AGA), held on February 19, 2026. He succeeds Gemma Schepers (City of Amsterdam), whose term on the board has concluded.

De Labaca joins Board Chair Audrey Taillefer (World Anti-Doping Agency), Nina Kin (LA Metro), Andrew Salzberg (Climate Imperative Foundation), Logan Nash (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority), Masaki Ito (University of Tokyo), and D. Taylor Reich (Ives Street).

The organization extends its sincere thanks to Gemma Schepers for her thoughtful leadership and meaningful contributions during her term, particularly in strengthening MobilityData’s presence and partnerships across Europe.

“We are grateful to Gemma for the perspective and dedication she brought to the Board,” said Audrey Taillefer, Chair of the Board. “I’m pleased to welcome Julien and congratulate him on his election. MobilityData plays a crucial role in advancing open mobility data standards, and I look forward to working together with this dedicated board and team to drive innovation and collaboration across the transportation ecosystem.”

“I’ve been following MobilityData’s work for many years, and I am truly honored that its members have elected me to the Board of Directors,” said Julien de Labaca. “As a board member, I will continue to uphold my guiding principle: advancing mobility as a societal issue, not just a technical one. I am committed to ensuring that data used for travel information is useful to millions of people around the world every day, and to building bridges between Europe and all continents on these matters. Above all, I’m excited to take on this work as part of the MobilityData team and to contribute alongside colleagues whose dedication and expertise I deeply admire.”

With a globally representative board and an engaged international membership, MobilityData continues to strengthen its governance as it advances open standards such as GTFS and GBFS, expands community participation, and supports the collaborative development of tools and best practices that improve mobility information worldwide.

As the organization looks ahead to 2026, MobilityData remains focused on deepening global collaboration, improving transit data quality, and ensuring that open mobility standards continue to serve riders, agencies, and innovators around the world.
